I am an individual who emerged from discouraging circumstances to empower women and men of color.  I was born into poverty with a single mother and a father who succumbed to a drowning too early in my life to have a hand in helping my situation.  My young mother did the best she could to be mother and father against the urban environment, but poverty made it difficult. In my youth I dreamed of being a great entertainer, but I didn’t know how that was possible living in St. Louis, MO.  Eventually the temptation of the streets won.  I became a young father, and turned to illegal activities to feed my child.  A brush with death rescued me, but unfortunately I was also a witness to the execution of my cousin.  This turned my life around because I decided I wanted to see my son mature into a man.

I  worked several odd jobs until finally joining an apprentice program to become an electrician.  During this career move I discovered my life’s vision of becoming an entertainer.  I tried rapping and stand-up comedy, but my passion came when I picked up a pencil and poetry flowed from it.  I began to perform my poetry locally and less than three years later I had enough poetry to fill four self published books, and one CD.  I've hosted several open mic venues, made television appearances, co-hosted a top rated morning radio show, and traveled the country filling ears and minds with positive messages of revolution, self-love, and tasteful erotica.

I created this site because of the ongoing issue that black men and women have with communicating their wants and needs to one another.  I am by no means a proffesional, but in the same breath, I am a happily married and devoted man with some great insight on things that could possilbly help other couples to flourish.  Black love is something that should be cherished and not comdemened.  We have allowed the philosophy of other people dictate how we approach our relationships and it is time for that to stop.

Being in love is no easy job.  As a matter of fact, it's probably the most difficult job on the planet next to parenting.  The high side to it is, if you do it right, the outcome can be utterly magical.
